London 1888 Sterling Silver Victorian Salt Cellar Set

Beautiful Victorian Sterling Silver Salt Set in it's original purple velvet and satin lined leather embossed box.  When I found this set, I couldn't believe how nice it was, and was amazed it was still complete in it's original box!   The box is marked inside on the satin liner "R. Winsor Bishop - Jeweller - Grantham." The box is bound with an embossed gold oval on the lid, and is in excellent (like new) condition.

The salts are quintessential Victorian designs with sea shell and wreath designs around the tops of the salts, and matching sea shell bowl silver spoons.  All pieces have matching silver hallmarks, as shown above, dating the pieces to London 1888.

The maker mark is E.F.  H.T. which is Edgar Finley & Hugh Taylor, trading as Horace Woodward & Co.  This fine silver maker made the America Cup in 1891 (called The Valkyrie Cup after the Yacht that won), as well as other fine silver creations.
